About the Quilter

I have been sewing since I was a little girl. My mother introduced me to sewing when I was only 6 years old. What a gift she shared with me, teaching me to read a sewing pattern before I could even read a book! My first "real" job, at age sixteen, was in the fabric department of the local H.L. Greene variety store. Over the years I sewed for friends and my growing family. Then in 1980 I discovered the art of quilting. My passion for quilting lead me to work in a sewing machine shop where sales, teaching and repairs were the heart of the business. No doubt about it the machines are a wonder - something so functional that allows us to be so creative. But, the quilters are even more wonderful. With this in mind, I worked in a local quilt shop for the last 6 years. My days were filled with teaching, designing quilts, and serving customers. In an effort to better meet the needs of today's quilter, I learned to use a longarm quilting machine. As a mother of four and grandmother of five (soon to be six), I understand that time to pursue our hobbies is limited. It is such a positive feeling to finish a quilt or complete a project. Each quilt is a reflection of your own unique personality and creativity, crafted with love and care. Through my longarm machine quilting, I am happy to be part of that process for you.

I take great pride in the quality of supplies and materials I use to complete your quilt. Quality materials produce a quality result. I use a Gammill Quilting Machine, Optimum Plus. Your quilts will look and feel better and last longer because I start every project with a new needle and use all cotton thread. For batting, I offer two choices from a superior company - Dream Cotton or Dream Poly. I offer a selection of patterns and thread and am willing to add new patterns and colors to meet your special interest or needs.
